COVID-19

Update #24

March 4, 2022

Earlier this week, Governor Newsom announced that due to declining COVID-19 cases and decreased hospitalizations, California would adopt new indoor mask policies for K-12 schools. In particular, the state will move from “requiring” students to wear masks indoors to “strongly recommending”.

As a result, as of March 12, 2022, unless required by a chartering organization or other local regulations. OCBSA will not require that masks be worn at OCBSA scouting activities, but the option to wear a mask ultimately is the choice of individual. OCBSA is aligning with the California guidance and “strongly recommending” that masks be worn at OCBSA scouting activities.

As a youth organization Orange County Council, BSA has been and will continue to follow the guidance for K-12 schools throughout the pandemic as it relates to participation in our programs.

As always, thank you for your partnership, flexibility, and patience as we navigate this challenging and unprecedented chapter in our lives.
